Delivering for lynwood

Here Is What We've Accomplished Together

As your Councilmember, Juan:

  • Co-authored and led the passage of the Lynwood Values Act, the city's sanctuary ordinance protecting residents from ICE collaboration.

  • Led Lynwood to join the Clean Power Alliance - the first Southeast LA County city to do so since the CPA commenced service - while divesting city holdings from fossil fuels.

  • Delivered nearly 200 new homes, including a 66-unit complex that is 100% affordable housing.

  • Fought for and passed a $25 Healthcare Living Wage and strong worker protections for city contractors.

  • Delivered nearly $15 million in new parks, more trees, and climate-resilient public spaces.

  • Secured $4.8 million in funding to convert a former gas station into the Northgate Market development.

  • Partnered with Congresswoman Nanette Barragán to bring home $1.3 million for the Lynwood Senior Center and $850,000 for the Lucy Avalos Community Center.

  • Was elected Chair of the Metro Gateway Cities Service Council, advising Metro on bus and rail service across more than 20 cities. His regional leadership led to the renaming of Long Beach Blvd. Station to Lynwood Station - putting our city on the Metro map.
